Gunjan Saxena – The Kargil Girl is surprisingly a Solid and Inspiring Biopic based on the life of Indian Air Force pilot Gunjan Saxena the first female pilot in combat. The Story is detailed, layered, and treated in a way that is engaging and thrilling. With just 112 minutes long it packs in a lot & maintains a fine balance throughout the film, (neither too slow, nor too fast).

Male domination, sexism, stereotypes, what men think of women- are all being touched upon in a flair, something that you can only admire. Whenever all these notions play on screen, they never seem overdone or plastic, they seem natural.

Screenplay is the USP of the film, direction is Very Good, Cinematography is decent, dialogues are hard-hitting, editing is sharp and meaningful, And lastly the presence of music/songs convey the moods very nicely.

Talking of performances, Jhanvi Kapoor holds herself reasonably well opposite much superior actors and manages to look the part perfectly. Vineeth Kumar Singh, Angad Bedi and Manav Vij in their extended cameos, too, were fabulous. And last but not the least, the scene stealer who owns the best moments of this film is undoubtedly the most outstanding actor of the film, Pankaj Tripathi. What an actor!

Overall,Better late than never, India deserved to see the story of the first female pilot in combat. It's a clean Family Entertainer and much more than just a biopic.
